Gentle Cleanse with Cleavers tincture! Wonderful detox for Spring!
Hip! Hip! Hooray for SPRING!
The weather has been getting much warmer here in Seattle and I have personally been feeling the urge to lighten up. My desire for cooling fruits and vegetables has skyrocketed and my interest in anything heavy and warm has disappeared. It’s nice to listen to the effect of the seasons on my body and to make gentle changes that honor that calling.
I have been craving a gentle detoxification. I have been increasing my outdoor exercise, which gets the sweat flowing. I have been keeping my water close at hand to stay hydrated. And I have also been sipping on cold cleavers tea (Galium aparine is the latin name). According to Sharon Tilgner, ND, cleavers is a gentle spring cleansing herb that moves the lymphatic system. The lymphatic system is one way our body moves wastes out.
Cleavers is growing everywhere right now! The medicine in cleavers is best when used fresh, not dried. Therefore, this is the season to harvest it!
Here is a video teaching you how to do just that! Check it out!
Be well and Happy Spring!
