Gender and Sex-Assigned at Birth

All children (and for some of us, the children inside) deserve to read stories that we can identify with. And all children benefit from the opportunity to learn about diverse people so they can grow into healthier global citizens. From this idea, the book was born.

Gender and Sex-Assigned at Birthis an uplifting story that speaks to the reality that gender is cultural and that our two-category system of sex-assigned at birth is painfully limited. This sweet tale helps children and adults explore gender and assigned sex in an educational and heartwarming way.

About the author:

As a queer woman, I have sat with the discomfort of navigating spaces that felt less than welcoming to diversity. I wanted to create something simple and beautiful that brings a little love and warmth to the children in us all as we explore topics around gender and assigned sex. My hope is that as more children are raised reading content like this, we will create more safe spaces for all.
